When you live in Upstate New York and have a little shoe fetish, you own a lot of tall boots, which poses a bit of a closet dilemma because they never seem to stand up straight.
.
All you Southern gals might not have this problem because I imagine you own more flip flops and fancy sandals. At least that's what I'd be wearing if I lived in the South :-)
But anyway, my closet came to look like this, with boots flopping all over.
So somewhere along the way, I read about this nifty little trick that has brought my boots to standing position.
You know all those magazines you have laying around your house?
You know, like LAST year's Pottery Barn Kids that I just can't throw away because it has some inspiration images I like. . .
Or my favorite work out magazine of all time, Oxygen. I never throw out an issue because I like to look back on the work outs when I'm bored of the same old work out routine.
First, roll up the magazine.
And then stick it inside your boot.
And there you have it! Boots that stand up tall in your closet.
No more falling over looking sloppy.
I hope this little trick brings you as much happiness as it has brought me.
Do you have any little tips that bring you happiness? Do share!
Maybe I'll feature it in an upcoming "Baby It's Genius" post!
This truly is genius! I have hung mine in my closet with a clip hanger. You know the kind you use for skirts. This works well in the summer/spring months when I am not wearing them alot. Gets them off the floor. This is fab! So doing this. Also, really wish I had more than one of your pair of boots! Too cute! Do you have a favorite online, not super expensive shop that you like? Have a great Wednesday!
ReplyDeletehahahaha! That is soo funny, I am also a person who keeps all my magazines. What a great idea!

Stuff and Nonsense
@ Tausha - What a good idea to hang them in the closet when they are not in use! I love it! As for inexpensive, but cute boots and shoes, I love Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe - they are very teeny bopperish, but inexpensive and stylish!
ReplyDeleteStephenie, I love this idea! I hate throwing out magazines too. I love your boots too!
ReplyDeleteGREAT idea! Too bad I just delivered all my old magazines to the library! I'll be saving them next month to try this. Thanks for the tip!

ReplyDeleteGreat Idea! My closet used to look like yours with boots falling all over the place. Thanks! Susan
ReplyDeleteYou have some cute boots!!! Great idea about the magazines... I will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, my closet organization is on my list for next week. I will be using this tip. I'm a Florida girl now but I grew up in upstate NY too.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip. I hate to see my boots flopping over not only because its a mess but I don't want them to be ruined. Visiting from CSI.
ReplyDeleteHow nifty :) I totally have old magazine AND floppy boots! Thanks for sharing!

Great FREE idea! I love getting organized using things I already have around the house. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteHey Stephanie! So, 3 things. First...I LOVE your boots! Wish I lived in a northern state so I could wear mine more often! (Yeah...I'm one of those "southern girls who wears sandals & flip flops all the time" because I live in Florida. yuck.) Second, this is a very good idea, because although I don't have a TON of boots, I do have a few pairs and this has been bugging me as well! Third, I was thinking to myself, "Well, what do you do with the magazines when you take them out of the boots to wear a pair?" Then I thought about it...keep a small basket in the corner or off to the side. That way there are extra mags for when you get a new pair of boots (*wink wink*), but you can also store the spare mag in there when you get ready to wear a pair!
ReplyDeleteAnyway...thanks for sharing! I LOVE your posts! =)
OH.MY.WORD! Amazing!!
