Easter Weekend

The weekend went as planned.  Easter eggs were decorated.

The Easter bunny brought an abundance of chocolate and we all over-indulged.

We cleaned out the closet in preparation to make it into an office.  Now we are planning what color we'll paint it and how exactly we will set it up.

And we looked at a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood that we probably cannot afford.  I was willing to give up the idea of having chickens when I heard a peaceful stream whispering softly in the backyard.  Jason and I are still discussing it.  It's considerably more expensive than the house we're in right now, but the neighborhood is gorgeous and the house is about three times as large as ours.  Plus, it might not be that bad considering we'll be making money from the sale of our house, since we have done so many renovations.

The house doesn't come without work either.  The kitchen needs to be updated and there are some small projects we would need to do.  But there are some gorgeous features, like two stone fireplaces and four bathrooms that probably cost around $20,000 each to install.

We need to call a realtor this week to find out how much our house is worth.  It's a big decision . . . but I'll keep you all posted.

Easter dinner turned out great. I added flowers to the tablescape and baked my first ham.  We invited some friends over, along with my parents and it was the first time this year that we were actually able to sit out on the deck and enjoy the sunshine.

I hope you had a beautiful Easter weekend.

  2. I love the colours of your eggs - especially the blues. Good thing you had a lot of chocolate to help you though all those big decisions you are making.

  4. Stephenie,

Sounds like a good day was had by all. Love the yellow flowers against the burlap runner. They pop!
Big decision to be made. Do you need the extra room? I have had small homes and large ones; truthfully the larger the home the more time, energy and money it consumes. On the other hand if you need more space, now is the time to buy. (How big is the home you're in?)

The eggs in the vase Dad thought were marble when he first saw them.

  12. I'm trying something new. I never comment to comments in this forum. Instead, I usually directly email people, because I never know if people check back to read the conversation.

Do me a favor, if you follow the conversation, please comment here and let me know. If not, that's fine too. I am just trying to figure out the best way to address questions and comments.

Deborah - our house is just under 2000 square feet. It is three bedrooms, two of which are upstairs. We are sick of the small bedrooms upstairs and would like all bedrooms on the same floor, since we are considering having another child. Also - we have a very wet basement and would like to (at some point) possibly have a finished basement.

  13. Stephenie,

I usually email the commenter if I don't recognize them as a 'regular'.
Either way works fine for me.
Thanks for answering the question. Have you made any decisions yet?
